Beegu is not supposed to be on Earth. She is lost. She is a friendly little creature, but the Earth People don’t seem very welcoming at all. However, so far she has only met the BIG ones. The little ones are a different matter.

Main Focus: Word Mat & Cloze Activity

This reading resource is a word mat and a cloze activity to complete with your Year 1 / Year 2 class.

Your Ks1 class can use the word mat to help with independent writing and the cloze activity can be used to check how much your class understands the context of what is being read in the story Beegu.

There are pictures for your Y1 class to cut out and stick and a word bank for your Y2 class. Obviously depending on the time of year.

Main Focus: Capital Letters and Full Stops

This is a resource aimed at Year 1 / Year 2 and the focus is on punctuation.

Your class will need to complete the sentences by adding in the capital letters and full stops.

Main Focus: Alphabetical Order

This is a resource linked to alphabetical order and is aimed at KS1.

Your class will read the passage and place the underlined words into alphabetical order. This resource has been differentiated four ways.

Main Focus: Word Class

Your class will read the passage taken from the Beegu book and identify different classes of words.

Your class will focus on nouns, verbs and adjectives.

Main Focus: Comprehension

This is a comprehension resource aimed at Year 1 and Year 2. 

Your class must read the book and then answer the question based on their understanding.

Main Focus: Phonics

This is a phonics resource that can be used for whole class reading or guided reading lessons.

Your KS1 class will read the passage and answer the questions linked to the story.

The resource has been differentiated four ways.

Main Focus: Story Sequence

In this reading resource linked to the book Beegu, your class will place the events into chronological order.

Its best you allow your children to sort out the passages and physically order them so they can work and rework the passages.

Main Focus: PSHE - Morals of the Story

This is a short overview of a few lessons about the morals of the story that are great for discussions with your class.

Main Focus: Vocabulary Extension

Using some of the key words from the story Beegu, your class will complete the sentences and also look deeper into simple meanings/ synonyms. 

Main Focus: Questions

This is a resource that focuses on asking questions.

Your class will read the answers and they must write an appropriate question for each answer given.

Main Focus: Lost Poster

This is a Lost Poster for Beegu to complete with your class.

This is a great resource to take a particular focus on character descriptions or biographies.
