Meet Supertato! He’s always there for you when the chips are down. He’s the supermarket superhero with eyes everywhere – but now there’s a pea on the loose.

Main Focus: Sentence Unjumble

In this activity linked to the Supertato book, your class will rearrange the words to create sentences.

Your class can either write the sentences or cut the words out and stick them into order.

Allowing your Ks1 class to cut the words out gives them opportunity to arrange and rearrange should it be required.

Main Focus: Word Class

This activity allows your KS1 class to focus on identifying and classifying nouns, verbs and adjectives.

You can also choose to allow your class to focus on one of the areas if required.

Main Focus: Alphabetical Order

In this activity linked to the Supertato book, your Year 1 / Year 2 class will focus on alphabetical order.

You can choose from a range of activity sheets to suit your class depending on their knowledge of alphabetical order.

Main Focus: Capital Letters and Full Stops

Your KS1 class will look at the sentences from the story and correct the sentences by adding in the capital letters and full stops.

This punctuation activity is aimed at Year 1 and Year 2.

Main Focus: Story Sequencing

This is a sequencing activity linked to the Supertato story.

Your class must read the passages and place the events into the order in which they happened in the story.

Main Focus: Comprehension

Your class will read the Supertato book and then answer the questions based on their knowledge and understanding.

Main Focus: Vocabulary Extension

Your class will explore some of the lovely vocabulary used by the author in Supertato.

Your Ks1 class will look at adding the vocabulary into the context of the story and also look at meanings/ alternatives for the words chosen.

Main Focus: Word Mat and Cloze Activity

This is a word mat and cloze activity for your class.

Your Year 1 / Year 2 class will use the word mat to complete the sentences by either writing in the words or sticking the pictures in the correct places.
