This is a useful KS1 reading resource that can be used as a reference point for your class when writing a recount or an adventure story based on The Antlered Ship. 

You class can also complete the cloze activity by filling in the missing spaces to complete the sentences using the word mat.

We have also include a resource for Year 1 and the children can choose  pictures to complete the sentences.

In this reading resource for KS1, your class will punctuate the sentences by adding in the capital letters and full stops.

Main Focus: Phonics

This Year 1 / Year 2 resource is to help your class with sound spotting within context and focuses on phonics.

You will choose the phonics phase best suited to your class, they will read the passage and try to locate the sounds within words.

We have differentiated this task to cater for both Year 1 and Year 2 classes.

In this activity your class will identify nouns,  verbs and adjectives from the passage and place them into categories.

Main Focus: Questions

This resource allows your class to work on their questioning skills. 

First your class will read the answers given and then use the information to formulate a question for each answer.

We have differentiated this and have also include a questions and answer matching page for your class to cut out and stick.

Main Focus: Vocabulary Extension

We have created a resource that encourages your class to improve their vocabulary and understanding on words.

Your class must add in the words to complete the sentences, then look at synonyms for the word. They could then write the words in a new context.
