Grimwood by Nadia Shireen is a whimsical and heartwarming tale centered around two urban foxes, Ted and Nancy, who flee to the countryside of Grimwood to escape a formidable enemy, Princess Buttons.

This activity focuses on identifying inverted commas / speech marks within chapter 1 of the book.
We have created a few variations of this resource so your Year 2 / Year 3 class can identify or insert speech marks where applicable within each sentence / passage.

An adjective is a word that describes a noun. Your KS1 / LKS2 class will choose adjectives from the word bank in the resource to complete the sentences from Chapters 2 and 3.

A suffix is a group of letters which are added to the end of a word to make a new word. The words in the table all end in the suffix -ing or -ed but some of them have been spelt incorrectly.
Your KS1 / LKS2 class will tick those that are correct and then correct the mistakes.

The comprehension is aimed at Year 2/3 and asks questions that encourage your class to retrieve, infer, describe, compare and contrast, find evidence and more.

Your class will look at the speech written across the chapters and try to think back to who it was that said it.
